The North Shore is home to so much inspiration! My kiddos and I recently visited Black Beach in Silver Bay, and collected some driftwood to create something exciting with- we landed on making driftwood wall hangings, and wanted to share this craft with all you northwoods moms and dads. Two of the most wonderful things we can do with our kiddos during this wild season of social distancing is get OUTSIDE and get CREATIVE. This craft will help to do just that!
Driftwood Wall Hanging:
A handful of driftwood (any sticks will do!)
Paint your sticks! Wait a bit for them to dry.
Line them up in whatever order you'd like. Choose one stick to display horizontally, and lay the rest vertically, overlapping a bit with the horizontal stick at the top.
Wrap a string around each intersection, securing the vertical sticks to the horizontal.
Lay an extra long string along the horizontal stick, and loop it around each end. Hang your driftwood creation on a hook. Voila!
Time outside is time best spent! Hope you breathe in some fresh air today, friends. That you be still, be hopeful, and allow yourself grace and time for beautiful creativity, too. We're in this together!
P.s. We'd love if you shared your nature creations with us. Tag us so we can follow along!
