 Hey friends,
Has anyone elses kiddos decorated approximately 2 million pictures in the past couple weeks? We've been on coloring/painting overload here with all this time at home. One fun project we worked on to add some variety to our creativity: nature paintbrushes. These brushes are a fun way to bring the outdoors in and to explore new textures. Plus they smell amazing! Here's a quick how-to on these little cuties:

Materials:
Straight sticks (If you don't have access to sticks, you can purchase a bundle from Our Life in The Woods, a local etsy shop!)
Small branches from a variety of pine or cedar trees
String

Instructions:
-Cut or break off sticks to the size you'd like your paintbrushes to be.
-Divide the pine branches into smaller pine sections. Lay them evenly around one end of the stick, covering it on all sides.
-Wrap a section of string tightly around the pine branches, several times until they are secure. Tie the ends of the string together.

I hope this creative time with your kids is refreshing, friends! We can all use a little joy right about now.

Happy adventuring,
Sara

P.S We'd love to see what you are making! Tag us so we can follow along as you create with your mini makers.

Local artist North Country Craft made some free coloring printables that would pair great with these  brushes - find them here.
